Still some problems with IE
I've installed the extension, and allpied the IE ralated modification. I still get the "Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site [URL of my page with gmap] - Operation aborted" message. The funny thing is that it does display the map beneath the dialog box, but not the left navigation bar. After dismissing the dialog box, it goes to the "The page cannotbe displayed" page. Any ideas? Tested on IE 6.0.2900.xpsp_sp2.....
New Features wanted
Great tool - many thanks for your work. Nevertheless, if you are offering a finger we want more :-). So here is my feature request: Is it possible to change the marker using the wiki syntax? I would like to use special markers for persons, event, companies, etc.

This tool is great, but I'm haing problems implementing it in a template like an infobox. For some reason I cannot pass a lat and longitude. The extension loads, but it cannot display the map. Could you please help?
- This is due to the way MediaWiki does the parsing. Unfortunately it is not possible to pass template parameters to extensions. --Dschwen 11:02, 18 October 2006 (CEST)
Great Work
Recently I searched for a good map extension for my KoslarWiki. The extension works perfect in the browsers I have tested. Your example was very interesting for me, because when I visited New York in 2005, I stayed in the Flushing YMCA and I always took the Line 7 to Times Square from Roosevelt Ave / Main St.
- Ha! Sorry, das die Antworten so spaet kommen, aber ich habe nicht beachtet, dass andere Leute hier auch schreiben koennen :-). Die Anwendung auf der Koslar Seite finde ich echt klasse! Da war ich auch mal in der Naehe, zwei Wochen im Forschungszentrum. Die Rheinlaender sind ja echt Klasse. Ich hab da in einer kleinen Privatpension gewohnt und nur die Haelfte verstanden wenn die Vermieterin losgelegt hat :-). --Dschwen 11:08, 18 October 2006 (CEST)
MW 1.8.2 Problems
Love your GMAP Extension! I just upgraded to MW 1.8.2 and I loaded your version 0.2.1 and it behaves very strangely. If I add a map the map displays fine in the preview mode with all the expected features, after I save the page the map appears as an empty frame with no features. Tried several browsers with the same result, see My Page (the map is toward the bottom of the page). Is this my problem or does this happen with all MW 1.8.2 sites? Installed GMAP v 0.2.2 100% on MediaWiki 1.12 alpha (r26623)!!
It all installed without a hitch .. Thank you very much. Firefox works fine with GMAP ..
If you are still supporting this extension, may I suggest if you would consider a feature making it possible to enter co-ordinates (in a box) and the map will at least centre on it ??
